So maybe I should start taking this thing a bit more seriously (thanks, Paul, for making me wonder why I even keep this up if I do not post; maybe there should be a great xanga revolution again?)

So if anyone's been wondering why I've been completely off the radar the last week or so (yeah right, who wonders THAT anymore?), it's because I took on what is possibly one of the weirdest jobs ever. I'm being given five Benjamins for putting posters up in store windows and passing out flyers (or putting little packets of flyers in those same stores). What makes it weird is that it's for some Indian housing development firm that is having some expo in the Chicagoland area, so I've been prowling up and down the Indian area of Devon. Even weirder is that I just got an invitation to the sweet sixteen of an Indian girl I do not know in order to do more postering/flyering at the place, and once that's done with I get free Indian food. Then Saturday is the Independence Day parade on Devon again, where I'll be handing out more flyers.

Thankfully, since I got this gig through a friend (who is doing it himself, really, and hired me on to have an extra pair of hands... on hand), it's not all confusion and surreality.

Spring break, don't go! I need to make up my massive sleep debt!

Lordy Lord, how excellent a time Pitchfork was. Granted, heat exhaustion, the insanely high temperatures (and high humidity), the horrible oppressive sun, and the threat of dehydration made things a little scary at times. However, I wasn't disappointed in any act, and I saw (and talked to) a lot of excellent people (not blowing hot air). I'm a little sad that we left before the two final acts both days, but the weather and exhaustion in general prevented us from being in any decent shape to hold out. Oh well! Lollapalooza starting Friday, so I guess this was a good proving ground.
